Rules & How It Works

Each Stable Manager selects exactly eight eligible National Hunt horses. You can amend your selections as many times as you wish before the competition begins.

Stable selections lock at the start of the competition on 1 November 2026. After that point, Stable Managers can still view their stable but cannot change their selections.

New managers joining after the competition starts can still take part, but their eight selections must be entered by an administrator.

Stable Managers joining after the competition has started begin on zero points.

Their selected horses score points only from the time their stable is entered. Any points earned by those horses before they were added to that Stable Manager's stable do not count towards that manager's championship or monthly totals.

Late-joining Stable Managers cannot enter or amend their own selections after 1 November 2026. Their eight Stable Stars must be entered by an administrator.

A monthly leaderboard tracks points earned during each calendar month from November through April. The Stable Manager scoring the most points in that month wins the monthly competition.

In the event of a dead heat, the points available for the relevant finishing positions are shared in accordance with the competition scoring rules.

No points are awarded for walkovers.

Points are awarded according to the Official Result on the day and are final. Any subsequent amendments resulting from a later appeal do not affect Stable Stars points.
